3Dis/placed for Not my Beautiful House

Film, installation, title and poster design for ‘In the Heavy Air’ exhibited at Not my Beautiful House, Kingston upon Thames for the group exhibition Dis/Placed

Directing and editing ‘In the Heavy Air’, I wanted to bring the senses of the rural into the exhibition environment whilst also offering an alternative viewing experience for the film.

A bed of soil was made with a plastic jacket on top, allowing the viewer to lie down and watch the film projected onto the ceiling, taking in both the sound and visuals from the film alongside the smell of the soil.

I also designed the title and poster design as part of the film itself and it’s promotion ahead of the exhibition.

4The Clementines

Art direction for indie band based in Derbyshire

Leaning into the indie alternative music landscape of Derbyshire, I worked in collaboration with the Clementines to create photographic and video content to be used as promotion for concerts and album releases through Instagram whilst also being distributed for press release.

5No Jobs in the Arts

Social media / content creation for Issue 8

Alongside the curation and editing of Issue 8, I was also responsible for the creative direction on social media in promoting Issue 8.

The majority of No Jobs in the Arts’ followers were between the ages of 18 and 35 so I wanted to experiment with using memes given this age range, their open source nature meaning we could use images without running into copyright.

This also gave me the opportunity to experiment with the theme of the publication, understanding the accesibility of information that is considered within social practice through the meme format.

6The Hunloke Arms

Proposal for mental health support within a pub chain

Considering a physical and digital structure to add mental health support within Chilled Pubs, a pub chain based within Derbyshire with eight pubs in the region. This lead to a concept involving monthly meetups, brochures to allow structure for these meetups and online support / resources to propose to the company to allow for funding within mental health support for supervisors and managers at work to be able to deal with crises in the workplace.
